Quirindi Showground Infield Amenities Block 2019 - $221k

Individual Community Project

  • Prepared successful grant application, design and drafting of conceptual plans, project plan and quotations for $221k Amenities block that was then selected and submitted by LPSC for Building Stronger Communities Funding.

  • Project managed construction through to completion.

Bell Park Playground 2013 – $214k

Individual Community Project

  • Conducted preliminary community surveys and research into modern play equipment.

  • Liaised with LPSC General Manager, Director of Community Services & Parks and Gardens Manager. 

  • Created design and obtained quotations for selected equipment, necessary site works and trades.ï‚·

  • Prepared detailed Grant submission for Shenhua community funding. 

  • Was successful in receiving $214k grant for play equipment, soft fall, shade structure and fencing.

  • Project managed the construction including liaising with Parks & Gardens Manager and other LPSC staff.

  • NOTE: This funding was part of $5 million required to be distributed under the exploration licence granted to Shenhua Watermark by the NSW government and does not represent my endorsement of the company or its projects.

Bell Park Playground Waste & Recycling Bins 2013 - $5k

Individual Community Project

  • Prepared grant application and quotations for Community Litter grants funding for Recycling, General waste, Butt out bins and signage. 

  • Procured equipment to be installed by LPSC.

  • Conducted community litter free picnic to comply with grant conditions.

Quirindi Public School P&C
President 2021, Treasurer 2016-2020, Canteen Treasurer 2014-2015

Key Acheivements

  • Ensured the organisation received all available grants and economic measures during the Covid-19 pandemic through Job Keeper and the Cash Flow Bonus.

  • Implemented cloud accounting software for canteen, to increase efficiency, and to ensure payroll and superannuation guarantee compliance.  Implemented accrual accounting to allow for better monitoring of canteen performance.

  • Working closely with other committee members to raise approximately $20k per annum through our Annual Horse Sports (an event attracting up to 500 people), Bi-annual Fair and other fundraising activities.

  • Implemented several strategies to reverse substantial losses canteen had suffered, to trading at a modest surplus within 12 months.

  • Implemented pants and shorts uniform options for girls and an updated sports uniform for all students including initial research, surveys, presentations to committee and sourcing/liaising with suppliers.

  • Streamlined co-authorisation for canteen through changing banks.

  • Implemented online ordering and EFTPOS for the uniform shop.

  • Implemented more efficient processes at the uniform shop to streamline stock control.

  • Recruiting and managing volunteers.

  • Recruiting and managing paid employees.

Quirindi Pony Club
Club Captain & Secretary (2020- Present) Treasurer (2019-2020) User Group Representative (2018-Present)

Key Acheivements

  • Delivering new Quirindi Showground infield amenity block detailed previously.

  • Taking on the role of user group representative and continuing to represent the club and take on the interests of all racecourse showground user groups in contributing to the Showground Master Plan.

  • Continue to liaise with LPSC representatives in the execution of the Showground Master Plan.

  • Further develop communication and delegation skills to work cohesively with a team facing a large array of challenges.

Panel Member for Community Funding

Representative for LPSC

  • Invited to be a panel member to decide the final round of the Shenhua Watermark Community Fund along with Mayor Ian Lobsey.

  • Lobbied for LPSC projects at the panel discussion and helped gain funding for the LPSC region, including the LPSC Riparian project, Quirindi Rural Heritage Village, Walhallow Public School and Werris Creek Public School.

Quirindi VRA

Rescue Operator 2010-2012

Donna Lawson trained and became an accredited rescue operator with the Qurindi Rescue Squad. Attending and assisting at a number of MVAs and incidents from 2010 - 2012. Also volunteering at gate entry for events as part of VRA fundraising.
